Task 3 (index)

TASK 3

SOURCES OF INDOOR CHEMICAL POLLUTANTS

Current and future European projects

Currently, there is a European Co-ordination Action interfacing science and policy making in the field of indoor air quality. EnVIE is collecting and interpreting scientific knowledge from on-going research to elaborate policy relevant recommendations based on a better understanding of the health impacts of indoor air quality. It is a framework program planned for a three years duration.

There is also the Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy. This centre is currently leading two projects: People for an evaluation of the air quality in buildings and the real human exposure to pollutant emissions; and Index for the feasibility of the institution of exposure limits to indoor air pollutants.

And finally, there will be an annual meeting about indoor air quality: Healthy Buildings, that is organized by the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ), in Lisbon in June 2006.
